Build a saved view
When you finish, you have a saved view that answers one question, like "what is mine and due this week, in every project". It takes about four minutes. A saved view is a filter you build once, give a name and open again with one click.
Luka, Mira and Ivan are a three-person studio shipping a mobile app. Mira builds a view called "Bugs due this week". It has three conditions: the type is Bug, the due date is by the end of the week, and the assignee is Me. She shares it with the workspace. When Ivan opens it, Me means Ivan, so he sees his own bugs.
What you need
- devBoard on iPhone, Android or Mac, signed in, in a workspace with some tasks.
- Any role. A guest can save private views but cannot share them.
Steps
1. Open Saved views
On a Mac, press ⌘K and choose Go to Saved views. On a phone, tap the filter button at the top of My Work. The Saved views screen opens.
2. Start a new view
Press New view. A window opens. Type a Name, like "Mine this week".
3. Pick where it looks
Under Project, pick one project or Across every project. Under Show as, pick Board or List. A board groups the cards by column. A list shows them as rows.
4. Add the first condition
Under Filter, press Add a condition. Pick a field, then how to compare, then a value. For example: Assignee, is any of, Me. A tag shows how many tasks match, like "12 matching".
5. Add more conditions
Press Add a condition again. Pick Due date, is on or before, End of this week. Set Match to All if every condition must be true, or Any if one is enough. A view has one list of conditions, with no groups inside groups.
6. Sort, share and save
Pick a field under Sort by, or keep Manual order. Turn on Share with the workspace if the team should see it. Then press Save.
7. Open the view
Find it on Saved views, or type its name in the ⌘K palette. Open it to see the matching cards.
Check that it works
Open the view. The number of cards matches the count you saw while you built it. A shared view has a Shared tag in the list.
These are the fields you can filter on.
| Field | What you can ask |
|---|---|
| Status, Status category | Which column, or which group: Backlog, To do, In progress, Done, Cancelled |
| Assignee, Created by | Me, or any member. Assignee can also be empty. |
| Label | The tags (labels) on the task |
| Type, Release, Project, Priority, Level | Is any of, or is none of, the values you pick |
| Due date, Start date, Completed, Created, Updated | Before, on or after a day, or empty |
| Title | Contains some text |
| Archived | Archived work only |
Me is saved as @me. It means whoever opens the view, so one shared view works for the whole team. Today, End of this week and the other day choices work the same way. Today is saved as @today, so the view still works next month. You can also pick a fixed date.
What to try next
- Use a view to see what is left in a release, the version you ship next. Plan a release shows the two conditions.
- Pair it with your morning in My Work, which only shows tasks assigned to you.
- Open views faster with the keyboard shortcuts.
- Ask your assistant to run a view by name. See connect devBoard to Claude Code.
- All guides in one place.
If it does not work
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Nothing matches" | A condition is too tight, or the work is archived | Loosen a condition, or add Archived |
| Share with the workspace is greyed out | You are a guest | Guests keep private views only |
| You cannot drag cards in the view | A view shows results, not the board itself | Change the status in the task, or drag on the project's board |
| A shared view looks different for a teammate | Me and Today mean the person looking | That is on purpose |
| You cannot edit a shared view | Only its maker and admins can | Ask them, or build your own |
| "This filter nests groups, which the builder cannot edit." | The view was saved with nested groups outside the app | Leave it as it is, or build a new one |
Questions people ask
Can a view search descriptions or comments?
No. The Title field looks for text in titles only. The ⌘K palette finds projects, views and items by title or key.
Can I nest and/or groups?
No. A view has one list of conditions, matched with All or Any. That covers most questions a small team asks.
Who can change a shared view?
The person who made it, and the workspace's admins and owners. Everyone else can open it but not edit it.
