Time tracking on the task you are doing
Most teams track time in a second app. devBoard puts the timer on the task. You press Start on the card you are working on. When you stop, the time is on that task. There is nothing to copy over later.
How it works
- Press Start on any task or subtask. Press Stop when you are done.
- You can run one timer at a time in a workspace. Start a timer on another task and the first one stops.
- Forgot to start it? Add time by hand, from one minute up to 24 hours. It counts for today.
- Each task shows its total next to its estimate. The estimate is how long you thought it would take.
- Your entries are yours. Nobody else can change them. To fix one, ask your assistant.
- Time you log shows in the task's activity feed, next to comments and status changes.
- Epics do not have timers. Time goes on tasks and subtasks.
From your AI assistant
Say "start APP-42" in Claude Code or Cursor. devBoard assigns you, moves the card to In progress, starts your timer and gives you a branch name. Say "done with APP-42" and the timer stops. Ask "how much time did I log this week?" and it adds it up per ticket. Setup takes two minutes.
An example: Ana
Ana is a freelancer with three clients. Each client has its own workspace. On Monday she opens the bakery app workspace and starts the timer on "Fix the checkout bug". At noon she stops it, switches to the hotel site workspace and starts a timer there.
She forgets to start the timer after lunch. So at five she adds 90 minutes by hand. At the end of the week she asks her assistant for a timesheet in each workspace. That is her invoice, per client.
What it does not do
- There is no timesheet screen in the app. You see totals per task. For a weekly table, ask your assistant.
- The app logs time in minutes only. Notes, past days, edits and deletes go through your assistant.
- It does not make invoices.
- It does not watch what you do on your computer. You start and stop the timer yourself.
- A timer is not shared. Each person has their own.
Set it up
There is nothing to set up. Open a task and press Start.
Questions people ask
Can two people track time on the same task?
Yes. Each person has their own timer and their own entries. The task total adds them all up.
Can I track time on my phone?
Yes. Open the task and tap Start. It works the same on iPhone, Android and Mac.
Can I fix a wrong entry?
Not in the app yet. Ask your AI assistant instead. It can change or delete your own entries, and only yours.
